SWP are pleased to be working on another local project to refurbish and construct new mews properties on an existing compact site, creating an interesting mix of requirements to be considered both for structural and civil engineering design.

The existing buildings were Victorian type and these required inspection and investigation to confirm their suitability for conversion and upgrading. The new properties were to be traditionally constructed.

The access was tight and restrictive between existing buildings into the original yard. This was to be improved with a new parking court and improved pathway links around the site. A section S278 was required for the Highway works.

The civil engineering drainage required the foul drainage to connect by gravity and discharge into the main sewer in East Street. The surface water would be attenuated and as the site did not soak, it would also need to be connected to the foul, via a catchpit manhole and hydro-break.

Another compact and brown field site being repurposed for modern and bespoke properties, which is good to see.
