This is an interesting project with the Directors having worked on the original school buildings back in the day.

The phase 1 works for this site converts the existing Boston House school building into residential apartments, adds new build housings plots, adds a car park with terraced deck, and a new access road between the two new phases.

The recent fire at the Moira House building, does not form part of our work but is a real shame to lose one of the key and original buildings from the early 1900`s.

The refurbishment of Boston House includes room alterations to create new flats with improvements to the existing structure to improve integrity and modernise. Although well built, some existing timber floors and steel beams have suffered decay and have required repair or replacement. New steelwork has been needed to deal with wall removals and balcony creation.

The new car park is partially cut in to the sloping site with retaining walls to the rear. This has a planted terraced deck over and is all in reinforced concrete.

The new properties are detached 3- and 4-bedroom low rise, built traditionally.

The new road is quite steep and snakes up the hill connecting both phases with an improved access and a number of Civil Engineering S278 highways improvements.

All of the original buildings that could not be re-used have been demolished and removed from site. This was quite an undertaking in itself.

Works are progressing well on site and an interesting project to keep an eye on, hoping that phase 2 will pick up momentum and we can continue with this great local project.
