Works are progressing with this very nice single new build house with a detached garage for Berkeley Homes. Primarily traditional construction with a partly open plan roof space for a `bat roost` and bedroom accommodation. Specialist stonework to the external façade. Traditional strip foundations in the clayey sand soil.

The civil engineering was actually quite straight forward with the client opting to retain the on site foul sewer storage tank, with the option to add a foul treatment plant later if required. The surface water was stored beneath permeable paving and soaked into the sandy ground at a reasonable infiltration rate.

One unusual problem on the site itself was the location of two large diameter water main crossing the site a quite a shallow depth. This limited the location of additional ancillary buildings and working close to the strict exclusion zones.
