We are pleased to be involved with interesting project in Eastbourne, to convert the original Girls School into residential accommodation. The main and historic buildings will be retained and refurbished into apartments. We are converting Boston House on our site, however due to a fire on the adjacent site, Moira House itself was destroyed. A number of the newer school buildings have been demolished to make way for a new access road, car park and new house plots.
This is in affect Phase 1 of the overall site, and we are hopefully that Phase 2 will continue soon after.
This is a really steeply sloping site with level challenges to overcome across it. A series of new retaining walls help with the access and steps in levels around the existing building and new house plots and car parking behind.
Progress is going well with the car park and house plots practically completed and the refurbishment of Boston House continuing.
The civil engineering was challenging to deal with the steep access road and drainage to allow for all plots on the site including the Phase 2 future plots. We required an extensive S278 for new and improved site access and local road junction and crossing upgrades.
