Another interesting and complex site located in North Dorset in a small market town. The site is located on Church Hill and the main road with a steep slope down to the East onto fields beyond. The existing buildings stepped in floor level across the site as did the yard slabs.

The proposal was to part refurbish, demolish and rebuild the site with new accommodation and parking external works, combined with a new drainage system.

Due to the stepping and site conditions, the substructure was complex with many integral retaining walls. Due to planning and conservation the new structure was to be built traditional with flint, brickwork and timber.

The site levels were very difficult to achieve suitable and safe access for pedestrians and vehicles however we managed it.

The drainage systems were totally new with the foul being pumped up to the road and surface water discharging to shallow soakaways in the lower fields.

Unusual for us to be working so far West, however if we can make it work for the client, we are happy to travel. For more information and photos see our website www.swpeast.co.uk.
