Works are continuing well at The Causeway Apartment Building, located directly adjacent to the recently refurbished former Lloyds Bank Tower Block, Durrington, for our Client Rocco Homes.

The original building was demolished to make way for this six storey reinforced concrete framed apartment building with balconies and roof terraces. The superstructure was designed as a flat slab with slim columns to fit within wall widths. Lift and stair cores were constructed in reinforced concrete as stability structures and the foundations were piled.

The external works required general hard landscaping, new parking bays to be added and a new vehicular ramp constructed close to the new building to link up with the original car park facility on the neighbouring site as part of the planning requirements. A new access road and section 278 highways modifications were also required. The Foul Water drainage connected into the main sewer and Surface Water drainage design required attenuation and a flow restrictor before discharging into the main sewer.
